Hey guys, I've finally got some angelfish wrigglers. This is day one of them hatching, and the parents have transferred them to a val leaf. I am wondering when I should take the parents out, as I am afraid they will eat the fry. I've read a lot online, and basically they say the parents may or may not eat the fry, depending on how they are.

However, my angelfish ate their first batch of fry already, and I was wondering if I should move the parents now to a new tank, and if the fry will be okay without the parents, or if i should wait until the fry are free-swimming. Thanks!

I would leave the parents in with the wigglers because.... since they have made it this far... it is most likely that they are parents that will take good care of them.

You might loose this batch of fry as well but by the thrid batch they should have it down. It is quite interesting to watch the parents fan and mouth the wigglers back into a pile. Mine have a batch of wigglers that I think was born last thursday.

If the parents don't eat the fry I would take out the wigglers as soon as they become free swimming and move them into a new and established tank (If you have one.)
