Well, today I bought some plants that will float on my tank...give him perhaps some hiding spots while still up there and make him feel more comfortable
i had a senegal bichir that was a complete spaz. he never calmed down, he's still crazy. he likes to swim through the filter water's stream all day. he doesn't have a problem with eating. the first couple months i never really saw him eat but i guess he did cause he never died.
one thing that will almost always work is earth worms. i once had a delhezi that wouldn't eat and i had to hand feed it live earthworms for weeks until i could move it onto frozen foods.
but about your floating bichir, some just have weird personalties. if your bichir has this kinda personality then i would consider you lucky. mine even lets me pet him
I think he definitely ate overnight; one of my zebra danios is gone (counted only 9), and cant find any ghost shrimps (but they could be hiding)...he has a big lump in his stomach, as well....
He still hanging out at the top by the floating plants..
