Haha I guess your also the reason why I got my parrots a 55 gal. Before I had a 20 and then I found out on that site that they don't grow too the size of the tank and they get stunted so I guess you got me obsessed with fish so thank you :D

Lol your welcome.

I guess the one I was thinking of was half faded so I don't remember where else I have seen one.

I hope this havent been said already

But blood parrots fade as a measure of dominance. Its kind of like puberty in males so they tend to do it as a measure of dominance. For example, if you take a group of fading cichlids and separate them each into their own tank, it will take them just a number of days to weeks to fade. But if you put just one unfaded baby in a tank full of already faded adults, it may take a long time to fade and may never, though I have never seen this happen.

I bought one unfaded baby because I liked its shape at one time and put it with my other parrots, all of whom had already faded and the largest of which being around the size of a grapefruit... It has been over a year and the baby is still brown with black stripes.

Its possible for them to never fade, just putting that out there.

And I still say its not dominance related, its genetic. Right now I have a juvie Parrot that is at the absolute bottom of the hierarchy and its started fading recently. My first unfaded one I ever had was at the top and it took her 4 months before she started to fade.

I bought a unfaded one like 7 months ago. It is almost faded now. It will become brighter and have less not orange on it in a few months.
