Seriously, get the cypress. It's cheaper than stuff like aspen that's made for pets. Plus you can spot-clean it when he craps, saves the trouble of cleaning the whole thing. Another good thing, you can wet the cypress to bump up the humidity, which he'll like...do that with dirt & you get a mud pit.

He got it on newspaper now, which is better -- especially when it might be too late to run out to the store and purchase some mulch at this time of the day.

All I can say is do your research before obtaining the animal... Wether it fish, cat, dog, snake, lizard it doesn't matter do your research first... Then have the setup ready for the animal when you get it... In this case you took previous owners cage... Also thing what you are going to do with a reptile that will get 3-4ft where are you going to keep it... What are you going to feed it... When you do your research think long term for the animals well being also...

Yeah....lc......you HAVE to clean that glass. And change soil. They sell animal safe cleaner at petco. Pricematch it (go to petco.com and print the online price, take it in and they will honor it) Get 2 bottles. You will need to clean and reclean the glass a few times. I can't wait to see it in better condition.

L.C. Your threads are the most popular on the whole reptile page. I think if you turn things around RIGHT NOW you will still be in the "good" with everyone.

You guys are getting MUCH better with the biting of thy tongue (a couple of you guys still need to just hold back from posting if you have "had enough" with him) Some of the info you get I copy and save in my own files for one day I hope to own all kinds of animals. I am just not ready to take the step. I look over here for encouragement, and i WILL have enough guts someday.

Z-trip....you are excedingly brilliant, however some of your posts seem a lil petty. I know you are frustrated but i can see it in your writing. You want L.C. to be a better care taker....not stop keeping animals altogether. How good would it feel to see him post a pic of himself trying to build one of your enclosures? I.....Would be floored.

L.C. Wood is CHEAP tell us what you need to know and anything is nothing..........

I would suggest the same in the future or when you get the enclosure built got with mulch.
