They are pet holes. They need to dig. Once you get one, it will dig a hole and you will almost never see it.
I plan on getting one eventually regardless. They would be a good species to breed.
Here's one of my Ts and some of the other arachnids I own:
Ceratogyrus darlingi, the curved horn baboon tarantula. This one is named Kory, who I think might be female. She's a juvenile right now, so the horn on her cephalothorax isn't fully developed yet but still noticeable. One of my favorite genera.
Dolomedes tenebrosus, a fishing spider I collected in August. Still alive today. She damaged her leg when I found her...it was really slowing her down, so she ate it! She just molted a few months ago and has 8 legs again! Hence her name, Lucky.
And my latest acquisition, a
Dysdera crocata, the woodlouse hunter. Check out those fangs!!!! She's in a threat pose here...when I prodded her with a pen to get her to reveal her face, she jumped up and bit the pen!
Plenty more spiders where those pics came from!
