oh yea, my blue diamond it's just as sexy :screwy:
but by it I mean I have a devil in my 180g, aka my blue diamond.:naughty:

my rbps are by far my favourite fish I own!
No one ever believes me when I tell them I have 6 at home...
Maybe cause I look so innocent haha 5'2" blonde little girl voice "yeah I have 6 piranhas at home" usual response is something like this " no you dont!"

If a 5'2" blonde little girl voice "yeah I have 6 piranhas at home" I'd be like "show me" :naughty:

i love how old threads resurface. About a month ago I had noticed a member was usually in the "currently viewing this thread" section over a couple of day period that had a name that sounded like it could be a girl. Sent her a private message and she had been keeping Ps for some 15 years. Mostly black rhoms. Kept birds of prey too so her Ps got left over bird legs a couple of days a week. Thought that was kinda cool.

I don't have any but am looking into it...Actually while I'm here, what is the smallest tank I could keep just one in?

well you've got a couple options.

in a 20g long you could keep one wimple (catoprion mento)

in a 40g breeder you could keep S. compressus, S. sanchezi, or S. irritans.

In a 75g you could keep just about anything from the serrasalmus, pristobrycon generas. You'd have to upgrade eventually if you kept S. manuelli, or S. rhombeus.

For Pygocentrus piranhas you need to keep at least 4 which is gonna require a 100g or 125g aquarium, but you could fit 6 or so in the 125. Basic rule o' thumb is 20g per pygo for P. nattereri or P. cariba. P. piraya gets up to 22" long so you need a truly massive tank to keep one.
