Where can I find Pool filter sand ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got mine from a pool supply store for like 10 for a 50lbs bag. I used two for my 125 gallon. If you are getting good stuff you really will not have to clean it much and it shouldn't cloud your water at all really. I know some people say that playground sand works too but it is much dirtier and will have to be cleaned very well and even then you are going to most likely get clouding. Good luck.

home Depot for mine. cost me 10 dollars for 25kg of sand. It took me forever to clean half the bag so I only put half in lol. I will get round to adding the rest at another point. maybe when the hose isnt frozen solid.

I use this fine white commercial sand from home depot. its 6$ for 100lbs and its looks great and is easy to clean..Just an idea

I use the same thing works/looks great and easy to clean plus way cheap

Any pool store will have PFS.

It's much cleaner than play sand. I don't even rinse it before use...

+1 to this. I did all this research on how to clean my PFS I got when I set up my 125 a few months ago. I went to clean a small sample of it and nothing clouded the water while I was cleaning it. So I just put the rest straight into the tank and have never had an issue with clouding. It works great!
