Leslies pool supplies. Just tell them you need sand for a fish tank. It cost me $11 for a 50 lb sack.

You can also buy play sand from home depot. Its white/grayish color. Its $3.50 for a 50lb bag. Doesn't need to be rinse as much as the 3M sand....

Ace hardware sells pool filter sand for about $11 for 50lbs. They may not stock it in the store but usualy order and get it within 48 hours.

I may be wrong but I belive the pool filter sand is a bit bigger than play sand.

never had a problem with pfs...i got mine for $6 for 50lbs at a local pool store

Don't have problem with using it in my Discus tank. I have yo yo and a few pleco.. no problem so far.

You are right, pfs is a bit bigger than play sand. It doesn't sink as fast as pfs.
