Where do u get your tanks from?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh, and go to swap meets. I got a 40g hex tank with stand for $15 bucks as well. Also got two fluval 405s for $20 at one.

Craigslist.....I just picked up a 100 gal for $50. I'd say just do your shopping, and check craigslist often, because the good deals don't last.

Another Craigslist tank purchaser here. Check often and be patient. The real good deals aren't as often as the over priced ones.

The Petco $1/gallon tank sale which happens every couple of months is nice for small tanks too.

I got my 125gal and 2 55 free on craigslist. I just picked up this weekend a 100gal a 36?gal and 2 20 gals free from craigslist.

I hope you see the trend.

Thanks guys and yeah, the trend is sorta hard to miss lol. Now, I was reading on another forum, if u go with a big tank like the one I want to upgrade to, I should go glass but someone said acrylic are better built? Does this make sense to anyone?

Also, for a huge tank like 500 gallons, what kind of decorations could u put in there to hide your huge fish? And where would u get them?

in my experience most big fish dont like to hide. they are more in your face lol. but a cheap nice looking option is the large clay flower pots. they make awesome fish caves for shelter and spawning, and they are cheap. great look with natural color gravel too. i have bought two tanks new. all of my many others were from craigslist.

They dont like to hide when they're older? Sorry, I have young fish so Idk. I know the catfish will want to rest on something, so a clay or flower pot is a good idea but what could I use for my clownknive when he gets bigger?

Difficult to find anything bigger than 500 in glass. Just the way it is. Big tanks are acrylic or home made.
