Where do you get your rays?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fantastic Fins in Livonia for your monsters, trust me this is the #1 lfs in MI. Trev for blackies and Amazon Stingrays for all other types of rays. Pet Vendor is another lfs for not so common monsters, jardini, payara, pbass, etc. No doubt though Fantastic Fins is the best for top grade monsters, ATF and more. Stingray Bay is also another great place. Oceans n Seas is another place, BUT way overprice.

Alot of cool petstores on my side of town but not sure if there is anything good out by you.

Preuss Pets is an awesome shop but they don't carry a lot of monsters. They have a pair of leopoldi locally bred now on consignment, but otherwise a lot of nonpredators. Great for africans, great plants, community fish, and anything saltwater. If you haven't been its worth the trip. It looks like I need to make the trip across the state.

Hello fellow Michigander! :) If you are in the Grand Rapids area Blue Fish Aquarium is a great LFS. A lot would be special order though I think, either through a vendor on MFK or at a LFS in your area. Hopefully I'll be able to start providing some true hystrix though in the next couple of years. Kind of a long wait though ;)

I plan on getting a few Retic rays soon from a local shop called Animals and Things in Woodbridge, NJ. They seem pretty legit, and have quite a lively stock of fish, of all varieties. The place sells Retics for 60 bucks a ray. Hopefully once I get mine, they won't be in too bad of a shape.

Keep me in mind when you do. I will be here at least 5 years. Just started a PhD program at MSU in Zoology.

Will do! Still working on expanding and growing out my breeding group, but I'm hoping to see some progress next summer :) Fingers crossed! Good luck at MSU - great school! Wishing you the best!
