Where Do You Guys Get Your Fish?

Hey Everybody,


I'm just curious on where does everyone get their common saltwater fish like clown fish to the very unusual like guitar fish and so on. Is it that the majority of rare and unusual fish come from lfs (I personally don't agree)? I live in the bronx and their really isn't any great lfs that saltwater fish.

I really like online stores (not only because of saving gas lol). The benefits are endless with online stores......online sales, give's you something to do when bored, see diversity of fish for sale a click away.....

Please post the sites and stores you purchase your marine fish (If the fish are rare and unusual post their names and where you got them).

Last but not least, why not post the strangest/rarest fish you've seen sold at an lfs or online source.

I just go to my LFS. If I really want something special that is considered rare or unusual, I know he would go out of his way to try and get it for me.
 
my local pet store can order anything for me and get a better deal because they buy bulk. so if i want a special fish i look on saltwaterfish.com and then tell my local pet store what fish and they get it.
 
I get SW fish from www.liveaquaria.com

They have the diver's den where they have rare/unusually colored fishes for say in a "What you see is what you get fashion." Nice experience, good people, and keeping business in wisconsin.

That being said I also get fish at wholesale...I paid $10 for my panther grouper. Try to find that at your LFS. The markup on some fishes is just rediculous. My friend owns an online frag shack and so whenever he makes a fish order (monthly) I put in for whatever I want.

I always order from live aquaria (4 fish) and go to the lfs by me.....but usually the fish are in bad shape.


Have you guys seen personally and strange or rare fish at an lfs or online?

I've heard of them.....but never ordered from them (yet) lol...im gonna look at the site now.

Also if you enjoy freshwater fish have you heard of aquascape?
 
I used to go to my 2 LFSs, but I'm going to start exclusively buying from a buddy of mine... he owns justphish.com.
 
ok thanks i have a new site to look at...lol getting bored staring at one site for like 2 years...liveaquaria.

So far 3 sites down.....
