Where do you keep the syrup (maple, etc.). In the fridge or out?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The cabinet.

We keep ours in the fridge. It keeps the ants out of it. Anyone who has delt with South FL during the rain knows how fast ants come inside and find anything they can to get into.

Not a on the up and up for syrups so I'll assume my log cabin is cheapo syrup and it sits in a cabinet.

Yes...from a formulation perspective...Log Cabin syrup is "cheapo" syrup!;)

Of course the marketing folks at Log Cabin don't want to admit this. But any consumer can just do a side by side label comparison (Log Cabin vs. any other cheap syrup)...and see that they are essentially the same "formula-wise".

The main differences between "better" cheapo syrups and "less-better" cheapo syrups...is the amount of money spent on the formula. "Better" cheapo syrups use better added flavors (better meaning they taste more like the "real thing")...less better cheapo syrups use "cheaper" added flavors that don't taste as good. And "better" cheapo syrups spend more money on thickeners...to make the syrup thicker & flow more like "real" maple syrup (which is the true gold standard when we talk syrups).

This is not to say that many "cheapo" syrups don't taste good (folks usually like what they grew up with)!:)

good to see you packer.

My fiancé keeps putting it in the fridge and I keep taking it out. Driving me crazy me crazy. Who wants cold syrup?

Get used to it man...that's called married life!!! It's little things like this (over years & years & years) that cause divorces!...Ha ha!;)

Since you're only engaged at this point...this is your last chance to back out and stay single!!!;)

As far as the cold syrup. Try what I mentioned above. Just pour a couple ounces into a small container...microwave it for about 10-15 seconds...and you're good to go. In fact...this warmed up syrup is even BETTER than room temp. syrup kept on a panty shelf or kitchen cabinet.

Warm syrup on warm pancakes is even BETTER!:)

I don't eat pancakes often at all. maybe a couple of times a year

so luke warm or cold, i'll eat it. I don't think we even have any syrup in the pantry

Pankcakes and waffles cool down way too fast as is, can't see why some people want to put refrig cold syrup on them (OP is talking about people that pour the cold syrup directly on, not the peeps that warm it back up first ... at least I think).
