Where do you keep the syrup (maple, etc.). In the fridge or out?

Pankcakes and waffles cool down way too fast as is, can't see why some people want to put refrig cold syrup on them (OP is talking about people that pour the cold syrup directly on, not the peeps that warm it back up first ... at least I think).

This exactly. My GF's parents and her brother take the syrup out of the fridge then spend 45 seconds per person for this cold syrup to get onto their warm pancake/waffle. I'm sure it is just habit that their own parents did also. I of course didn't say anything when we were eating, but when we walked away from breakfast I said "Are you kidding me....cold syrup!".

Yes...from a formulation perspective...Log Cabin syrup is "cheapo" syrup!;)
This is not to say that many "cheapo" syrups don't taste good (folks usually like what they grew up with)!:)
We grew up on Karo or Aunt Jemima.I pretty much stick with AJ now,I'm used to the flavor so there's no point in becoming a syrup snob at this point lol...She stays in the cabinet or on the counter...never the fridge.

I've seen a lot of people do it ... boggles my mind every time ... and not just from lack of coffee in the mornings.
 
My four-year-old son eats a waffle every day (he would eat two or three if we let him) so I am pretty familiar with the whole process. I pour a shallow pool of syrup on the plate and microwave it for 11 seconds. It warms up the syrup and the plate so the waffle stays warm for a few minutes. It seems a little odd to have the butter on top and the syrup on the bottom, but that is how he likes it and it actually works well, takes a little longer for the waffle to get soggy....

I havent had Karo in years.I think I'll grab a bottle next time I'm in the market and see how the boy likes it.
 
I'm like half and half, initially it's not but it does seem to end to in the fridge. I for one don't matter.
