I am going to build a divider for one of my tanks and I was planning use the stuff. I tried Home Depot with no luck.

Did you look where they keep the drop ceiling tiles? that's where I found it..

I asked a few employees and was in the lighting and tile areas with no luck, I guess I will try another Home depot.

Some fish are too strong for standard lighting eggcrate. For large bruiser species, check out the egg crating at aquaticeco.com. They carry several types of eggcrating that can handle up to a couple of hundred pounds of pressure.

Really, thanks for the tip.

Try a search under lighting diffuser, or any commercial builders supply, they make several sizes and colors, some much heavier grade than the standard light panels. For light grade ones here is an average price source, http://electrical.hardwarestore.com/13-38-fluorescent-fixture-parts.aspx
Any store that specializes in lighting fixture sell replacement panels, they come in several patterns and strengths, I nan't find it off hand but at least one company sells a 1 1/4" hex pattern in dark green that is 3/4" thick.
