Where to Buy Bowfin

I bought one of comparable size at a LFS in Akron Ohio yesterday.

I'd be looking for Bowfin around 6" instead of less. Much more difficult to care for them when small.

I know this is an ancient thread but I am interested in raising bowfin and am curious why they are difficult to care for
