Where to buy bulk fw salt

Ive seen a few people with 50 lb bags of aquarium salt. One said its pool salt from walmart and another said it was water softening salt for laundry. Anyone can verify these as safe or suggest a cheap option for bulk salt?

I buy the 50lb bags of water softener salt from places like Home Depot, "safe for human consumption" meaning no toxic materials, yet inexpensive. It is also slow release, so I throw it in overflows or HOBs by the handful, if treating for ich, that way it gradually brings the salinity up to 3ppt.

Rock salt at your local farm & feed store in 25 lb bags is really cheap if you're using salt to treat ailments or heal wounds in a freshwater tank. It doesn't contain anti-caking agents or iodine. Its just salt straight from the earth in its naturally occurring form.

You can get a 50 lb bag of Morton's water softener salt from walmart for $5. Don't buy rock salt.
