where to buy gars

well i ordered the "needle nose gar" i hope it turns out to be a real gar, judging from the photo, it seems to be real

here in louisiana, we have spotted, lng, sng, and gator. casting is legal and there are no size limits on gar, so i've thought about trying to catch some, but i don't have a boat, so i'd have to find a spot on a bank somewhere to toss in

try the small freshwater creeks, do u have any close to u? alot of times u can run into the smaller tank sized guys around the smaller ones. i see them here local at the creeks all the time anywhere from 6" to the tank busters.

in my immediate location there isn't much, I would have a little drive, but it would be worth it if i can come up with a few fish
