what about marco rocks.. 150 lbs shipped for $300.00
I have some of his rock sitting in my living room, waiting for me to do something with it, when time permits.

Its nice porous rock, and it puts my fiji to shame.. I think the only thing better then his rock would be Pukani

it looks nice. u might of just made up my mind for me, heathd. i like the idea of dry rock, i can take my time aquascaping. the only thing is how long will it take to cycle it and get some nice coralline algae on it. probably 6 months or so.

Give it a good hose down when you get it. For the most part, its clean, but still a little dusty here and there.

Coraline takes no time. Good water parameters, and seeded with a peice of live rock that is already covered, it will spread like wild fire.

Turning dry to LR does take while, although i could give you a real good number. Ive been trying to read up on products that help boost biological activity and growth, but it really seems like smoke and mirrors.

I think most of that stuff is hocus pocus. Just get some real nice pieces of high quality live rock to shove in here and there as "show pieces" or things that will really be prominent in the overall scape.

Then its just a waiting game, but what isnt when it comes to reefing.

$3.50 a pound for pukani at bulkreefsupply
Yea, Ive been having a hard time on whether to do marcorocks or the pukani from BRS.

I might get some pukani for my corners of my tank, but I will probably call to ask if they can ship larger pieces instead of smaller ones. Last thing you want is to buy rock and get a bunch of stuff you cant use.

BRS is really good about working with you on size if they've got it.

I will be trying that then....as soon as I get the money saved up for some of these coral orders I have to do in the next couple months to get this thing finally stocked.
