My dad and i want to stalk a pond we own with rainbows, bass and some catfish. where should we get them from. We live in Walla Walla Washington.

catch them!!!! trap,minnow seine, cast net mmmmmmmmmm cabelas is a good place to buy the tools .... or just fish um up wait do u even get those as natives up there?Ya we have alot of bass and rainbows but was told we cant net in the big lakes so we are going to have to buy them from somewhere. Ya actually last year i caught a 21 in rainbow.
check with your local authorities to make sure you can stock your pond. you may need to obtain a permit to do so.

You can stock a pond with hatchlings from fisheries. Trout might not work as well in ponds because they tend to thrive in colder highly oxygenated water.

About the only place to leagally obtain them is going to be from a hatchery. My cousin used to live in Walla Walla, and he had a rainbow in his pond. You need to have plenty of water movement, some kind of waterfall or stream helps keep the O2 up, and it has to be deep enough. Trout can tolerate water up to about 65F but prefer 50-55F. Also the trout needs to be larger than the bass or it WILL be eaten. Just ask any California bass angler!
