Where to find Salvini cichlids.

How much do you think the shipping from TUIC to Eastern Mass costs?
Also why do you think salvinis are rare in NE region?
There is no way to tell cost, unless you know the weight of the box they are in.
I always try to buy at least 6-8 juvies, so the water weight can be low.
The larger the fish, the more water that is needed, so the more it will cost, as in the post above.
When buying larger fish, I like to do airport to airport shipping, and combine with another fish keeper, the weight isn't quite as much of an issue.
And the fish usually arrives same day it is shipped, maybe in only a few hours.
Of course the buyer needs to meet the shipment at the airport using that method.

Are Salvinis in general less hardy than other cichlids? The cichlids that I currently have are convict, firemouth, blood parrot, Green terror, jewel, peacocks, and a yellow lab. Are salvini cichlids the same hardiness as any of the cichlids I currently have or are they weaker than the ones I listed?

I found them to be very hardy but also very aggresive , they would be as hardy as any other fish you have but probably would be the most vicious of the lot.
Are you planning on keeping them with your current fish or will they be in their own tank?

They aren't any less hardy then other cichlids just a lot meaner.
-you won't find them or really any CA cichlids at Tropic isle, they have more african cichlids and general community type fish
-Uncle Neds you won't find them there unless they were dropped off by a customer or you special order them. he doesn't like them. you will find dovii, beani, pikes, pearsei, bocourti and lyonsi there on occasion but your best bet is to ask him to special order.
I'd order from TUIC, he has good sized ones right now. if you grabbed a group of 4-6 you'd probably pay about $40-50 in shipping, totally worth it

Do you think the fish nook will have salvinis?

Probably with current fish. Will they be too aggressive to coexist with my current fish?

New England Tropical Pet in chelmsford is OK, Luckys in worcester is good, Jays aquatics in Salem NH is great, Fish Mike aquatics in Manchester is good too but you'll likely need to special order salvinis. they just arent commonly stocked around here and they dont get along well with many other fish. I've seen them and blackbelts are the petco on needham street but that is one of their magnet stores so they get cooler stuff
