Where to get sharks!

Friend of mine is interested in purchasing marine sharks. Smaller sand sharks, up to black tips.

Anyone know where he should start his search?

Start his "search, with "research" and hours of it.

What is his current tank if any? What is his budget? What size of tank is he looking towards? How much experience does he have? How much extra time on his hands does he have?


He could browse through here, or hit up google. There is a lot of controversies that arise from sharks in captivity.

All I am asking here is if anyone knows any legitimate/good sources to purchase the shark, instead of simply googling it and hoping we find a good vendor. The questions I just answered will not help with my question.

Appreciate it... It is still pretty far off before he will actually be buying the fish. He still has to by the house to put the tank in. He is deciding on species and contacting people who can build the tank, but he wanted me to ask for some info on where to buy, since I am always on this forum site.

I'll keep you in mind, and may contact you when it gets closer to the time.

Thanks but he would like to stay away from purchasing Sharks from "just anyone" Hes looking more for a well known, well respected vendor.

I have seen several here around Baltimore if he wants to take a drive. I think Aquariam Depot and Sea Save have Nurse Sharks and a waabogong (sp) right now and House of tropicals has several Banded Cats and an Opel as well.

Check all your regional pet shops and he'll find some.
