where to get small mouth bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anybody know where I can buy them in Central, PA? There are farm product places around, but I don't know of any that sell fish.

I can get people SMB fry starting in late May when I get back from college. I have a whole pond full of big breeding adults that produce thousands every year, so I can get you little bass legally since I breed them and don't just go net them from a river illegally.

Here's a picture of one I got from my pond last year.

These little guys don't take to flake/pellet food immediately, but I did easily get them off of mosquito larvae and onto frozen Hikari brine shrimp cubes which they absolutely loved.

Just let me know in a month or so if you're still looking for a high quality baby SMB.

Thanks so much!!! I will definitely let you know that will be about when I will be ready for one. I was basically settling on getting one from a local stream caught legally in season. Our bass season in PA starts on 6/12 and the minimum is 12". I was going to start there, but this way would be great. I will let you know and thanks again!

Hi bjbass.

I am in central pa too, maybe we can make an order together to save on shipping. I am debating on sm bass, lm bass or pickeral. There are several game fish farms in PA, but most of them are only raise trout.

That could definitely work! I will let you know.

I stopped on my way home today to fish and I caught two smallmouth. Bass season closes on Saturday, but right now the minimum is 15" and I don't have a tank yet! I need to get that figured out and get started. Otherwise I could have been stocking it.

jdl. I looked that article and there is a guy in Bloomsburg! That is very close to me.
