So I've set my mind now completely on wanting 1x maybe 2 snakeheads but for the past day or two I've been unable to find out where you can buy them from online? They are legal where I live however there arent any stores around that carry or can get them for me. I'm wondering if anyone can post or better pm me and let me know where I can purchase them and get them shipped in

just go stand around your LFS and ask around. im pretty sure someone knows something since they are legal there. lucky you, but please dont release to any rivers or lakes. those things will wipe out a whole river

Yeah they are legal here but I don't think they are very common at all. And LFS's around here are very rarely busy, not easy to wait around. So no one knows online vendors or people selling and shipping them? Also, can anyone give me price range idea's on this fish, haven't really seen any being sold. What kinds of snakeheads grow really big and what kinds stay a bit smaller (sizes incl if you have a moment). And lastely. Is there anything else that would survive living in a tank with these guys or will it be only able to be them?

Unfortunately since they're illegal here in the states you won't get an accurate price on em' for your neck of the woods from anyone outside of Canada - I would imagine.

Down here they go for $300+ for a foot long.

There's NOTHING but other snakeheads that will survive in a tank with em', go YouTube some videos on them feeding - guys are brutal. Even other snakeheads in the tank are 50/50 as they're cannibalistic. You'd need a 300+ gallon tank I think.

Since they're legal where you're at I'd just ask all the LFS owners in your area - maybe see if you can find a fish club in your neck of the woods and ask around there during the meets.

I thought it's $5.00 for a foot long, since when did they raise the price.

hahaha, sorry, can't help it.

sorry for hijacking your thread.

GL finding them.

ill have to check the other two lfs i know of but they are a bit further away from my house .. I also am thinking i might open my interest to wolfish as well. I'm not very educated with this fish though. Details on wolffish opposed to snakeheads .. differences and opinions on either if i could get either. Also .. anyone knows where I can buy wolfish online let me know!! thanks guys

i will send you a pm fellow canadian

I have seen them in Quebec store for 8.99 for a Redline (get huge) and $11.99 for a bleheri (stays around 9" if my memory serves me correctly)

So certainly you can get the common ones for a very reasonable price.
