Where would you put your overflows on a 8' 240?

Have you considered their black acrylic overflow boxes?

They would hide all the plumbing, and don't detract too much from the esthetics of the tank.

Here's a picture from the gallery of Midwest Custom Aquariums:

Yeah thats what I thought the C2C was...not going to do that route.

I will definetly have the black overflow covers from them....that is unless there is a paint that is safe for IN the water and I could paint the inside of the overflows like I am going to do with the back of the tank.

My only problem with overflows int he corner is since its only 2 sides each they will be bigger than a 3 sided one that was set in a few inches from the corner...

Well I went with the corners set in a few inches from the corner...simply becasue they had one setup like that already and they are packing the truck up right now. They are passing through my area so I can save lots of money since they dont have to "ship" it on a truck line. There was no time to drill another 240 so it is what it is...im good with it tho...this give me a area to tuck away a powerhead for a UGJ system. So a 240 long reef ready (2 over flows with 2 holes in each) with bulkheads (4) and overflow covers and a 75 for the sump shipped to me for 1100...not to shabby!

I would put them on the back wall of the tank, six inches from the sides. That way, the tank is still viewable from all three sides.

Thats how I have it coming. Picking it up Sunday at 9am! I am going to start another thread to think out loud on my setup ideas....

Great. Can't wait to see the project come together.

I cant wait either...a few years ago I started putting a 280 together for a reef (6x3x2) and I had been working on it for a like a year and then Katrina blew threw my area and killed off my entire 110 reef and changed my life plans....wound up moving and having to sell the tank....now im finaly getting a tank back up and running after 3 or more years. Going fresh this go around tho...keep it easy.

Now I have had a 300 gal pond for a few months (see pond section) but thats not the same as a tank.....
