Which Aquarium Company To Go With?

I don't know why everybody is hating on glasscages. Maybe they've had some issues with customer service - I don't know. When I ordered my 300 gallon tank, I gave them the specs that I wanted and let them do their thing. In three weeks I contacted them for an update and it was shipped the next week. As for quality, there's some minor issues like some silicone coming out of the top rim and a few silicone spots on the glass, but it wasn't hard to cut and clean off.

I guess I don't know what the definition of a show tank is, but mine looks pretty nice. Sure, the bracing is a lot, but that makes me comfortable it won't come apart. And the canopy will cover that anyway...

And if you're in TN, shipping should be cheap. Don't know where else you could get a 300 gallon glass tank with starphire glass for around $1500...

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but your tank looks really nice with that 3D backgtound, I like the way you went gray/dark BG with whitish looking sand, should make the colors of your fish really pop. I am right behind you. Good looking tank

I suggest checking out Midwest Customs. I looked at a ton of manufacturers before I decided to ho with Midwest and I don't regret it.

I also own a Seaclear system 2. It's a cool tank but I wouldn't do it again if I had to do it over.

Tank in my sig is the Midwest customs.

I think glasscages would be hard to beat considering you're only 2.5 hours from them. If you had the time you could pick it up yourself I'd think. There's a place in Georgia called Precision Custom Aquariums that appear to make decent tanks. One thing you'll have to keep in mind with any company is people usually only want to comment on a place if it's negative. The happy people that had good dealings with a company are usually quiet. You also don't know if what you read online is accurate or if the person complaining was maybe the biggest pain to deal with. I am considering buying a tank from glasscages someday and don't have any worry.
