Agreed, but not for a 75g. IMO a mix of senegals, delhezi and palmas variants would be nice. I hope you're not buying the tank and the fish at the same time though, although polys are generally tough I wouldn't want to use them to cycle a tank...

Start with a senegal IMO . Plus if he has to cycle it you may have a hell of a time keeping the bichir happy while cycling.

If I could choose any single one it would be an endli obviously a P. bichir bichir If I had the tank for it would be my dream fish.
