Trying to decide which bio media to pick.... Sera siporax or seachem matrix. I'm sure both will work but just wanted to know how others like using either media. Let's hear your thoughts.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. They are both sintered glass type bio media. Spiorax looks good and I wouldn't hesitate to use it. I would bet that most people here (on MFK) use matrix compared to Spiorax. Matrix claims a much higher surface area than Spiorax. I personally use matrix and Eheim substrat pro.

Take a look at CERMEDIA. Looks promising in many applications. I would love that block... If this was an option when I was looking for biomedia, I probably would have gotten a block to try out. Super pricy though... Might have to get a block to try one of these days. I have too much matrix and substrat pro to consider spending the money on something I really don't need. The woman would think I'm nuts...

Yeah seems like most use matrix. Thanks for all the input. Probably try it over siporax since I haven't heard anyone complain about it.

I use matrix, i used some 'rated' for 100 litres and with a sponge around the intake of my custom airfilter i kept my 9 5-6" goldfish fine

Cermedia is used in bakki showers on koi ponds. I have not personally used it, but everyone i talk to says that it is great.

I use aquaclear biomax and fluval biomax rings. It does the job. People go crazy over surface area and this and that but your bacteria does have a limit. I persoanlly would go with whatever is cheapest lol.
