oh and how do i keep the ph high?
i got 6 rocks in there 3 white ones (the real tang.. lake ones) and three others..
and when i do a water change do i have to add ph up?

what do you mean real tang lake ones? Do you mean texas holey Rock...? what are your water prams at your place...let start here and we can help... you do not want to screw with your ph too much... stable is better than high and then falling...
