Which catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Both of these sites are SELLING fish, any site selling fish will lie, notice the first link it even says will grow to 2' TWO FOOT, in a 75 gallon? :screwy:

Mono's and occelaris grow the same size. I suggest no catfish that will fit in a 75 and that will work with any of the fish you want to put in that tank. How about posting a link from a site that gives ACTUAL information. He is not being paranoid when his peacock bass is larger than a silver arowana. Check out this picture. Does this look anything smaller than 20"

Yes, this is a proven monoculus (occelaris grow the same size), and not a temensis as there is no spangling on the cheeck. Maybe do some real research. And instead of saying "Oh, that is the wild, my fish will never get that large." Start saying "Oh, they still have the potential to get that large and possibly can." Does this fish still appear to be able to fit into a 75 gallon or even a 125? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I think it is great that you want to keep them and all. But you aren't doing yourself, or the fish a favor. But I also think it is not great that you are not willing to learn and listen to facts. I posted a picture proving an average sized monoculus in the wild.

you'll also notice that liveaquaria.com says that arapaima can live in 1000 gal. 1000 gal tank is almost smaller then the arapaima would be. i still think a pimelodus blochii would work as long as you overfilter and skip the bass

lmfaooooooooooooooo paima in a 1k? not hardly, i have a 3k and a paima would be too big for it. i have a 150 and i have a baby unknown pbass and i plan on the bass regardless of what kind outgrowing it. if you had ever spent any time in prison you would know that it is far from fun to be cramped up into a confined space where you can barely turn around. take it from someone with experience it sucks. all you have to do is say youre going to forgo the bass and people would be glad to offer up suggestions of what kind of catfish would work well in a 75 with your current stock list.

Come on man, you still think 10-15" and will fit in a 75? What's the matter? You get your fingers caught in a 24" long occelaris/monoculus' mouth and can't type, or did my information get through your thick skull?

Your moms tank is too small for a 4-line... I really hope you forego the peacock bass...
