butterfly pbass (cichla ocellaris) will get to be at around 24" which means they will outgrow a 120 gal (assuming the width of the tank is 18")........ sorry, ummmmmmm lets see back on task.....

You don't know what you're talking about.
120 gallons are 48x24. not 48x18
don't try to bash this guy when you don't even have your facts straight.

read the thread. He's looking for another fish for his 75 that he plans on getting. That is 48x18. He saying he has the 120 in case something gets to big. But according to his stock list that 120 is already full anyway. But whatever. Just more to add the the RIP list.

hey dont you go fontstablkrhom on me or what ever that dudes name is from the piranha section he went loco :screwy: on me about having two rbps together, guess what there doing great ;). if i do get any of these new fish they will only go into the 120 as a last resort and they will not go in with the current fish that are in the 120 ;).

Perfect cat for your 75, get a gulper. Won't out grow the tank and will be very close with your stock list of feeders, oops, I meant tankmates. What happened to all the monsters on your dead list, gar, pacu, asian rtc, etc.?

different times had the ARTC when i was like 10 or something like that and it liked to site under the heater and one day it must have been to close and it got a sevre burn and died the next day. The others like gar, pacu, Channel and oscar died from a bad bottle of meds they had ich so my mome bought me some mardel with in an hour of adding not even the recomended dose (because of the catfish) they were all dead but the oscar. eventually i put the oscar out of his misorry he was starting to rot after 2 days and was still a live looked like how salmon do in the rivers. Now for the gulper good idea but a little to much for a fish that will eat all my other ones. But thanks for the idea.

Wow. Hostility. Anyhow, I have 3 Pictus Cats & they are great, active little cats. They have only grown maybe 1/2 inch this year, so they will last you a while. I agree you should get a few small ones. If/When you pick them out, check their patterns. 2 types-colombian & peruvian. Peru's have spots on sides, Colombians are more silver w/faint stripes. These 2 types are the same species, but do not get along! If you want one large cat instead, I say Synodontis or African Feather Fin. Raphael cats are cool, too...

**Facepalm** No, they are not the same species. You are thinking about the four lined pim (pimelodus blochii) and are not location variants. They are totally different species.

spotted is a pictus. lined is a 4 line. i currently have a 4 line that has a mouth large enough to eat any pictus alive today, and the attitude that if it didnt fit in his mouth he would bash it to pieces then eat the pieces. great active fish, but when he gets hungry watch out. most def. not a color variation of a pictus.

It isn't nothing special but try to catch a bullhead catfish
