Just keep in mind Loaches prefer softer, more acidic water than most (edit: African) cichlids. They're kept together all the time & many CL's never have any issue with the harder water, but it is a consideration...

tank is 75 gallon w/ 7 african cichlids and 1-2" Pleco ... with fluval 405 and about 60 lbs of lava rock soon to be 100lbs
in with my 6 clown loaches i have 4 blood parrots and 3 angel fish they all get on ok the small parrots thinks hes a clown loach to as i have often found him lying on his side asleep with them and joining in the fish tank bunbles they have with the shrimp
An 18 inch male dovi and his 13 inch female dovi partner. My clown loaches, all 7 of them are around 9 inches each

My water is what my water is (hard) and my Clown Loaches do great in it just like my other fish. I've got a group of 6 CL's with 3 Blood Parrots and some Plecs and Tiger Barbs in a 6' tank and I've got a group of 10 big CL's in with 2 Oscars, a juvie Convict, juvie Texas & some Silver Dollars in an 8' tank. All do great. Clown Loaches are super bold, they'll snatch food away from any fish lol
