Which COLOR SAND to choose ?

Black or Buff

black, I use black sand in my tank it looks nice

Used black with cichlids and they were dark. Moved them to a tank with light sand and they lightened. Third tank with thin layer of black over white. After dragon goby got done redecorating it looked like a stream bed.

Id say buff if its for the tank you posted of the vid for the niger

depends entirely on the fish, as different colours of sand will bring out better colours of fish. eg. motoro would look better on buff, black and white hypancistrus look better on black gravel.

I agree 200% pick which ever color will make your fishes color stand out more. Isnt thast the point of the hobby to have a beautiful fish you appreciate

Black - To bring out the color of my GATF and Armatus
Red - To bring out the color of my Endli's
Buff or Tan - To bring out the color of my P.Niger

In my opinion black is easy to keep clean compared to "buff" black looks good but "buff" is more naturnal. In my opinion it would be personal prefrence!
