which dwaf pike?

It will depend on the EBJD. If they pick fights, it won't work. Pikes don't usually posture like many other cichlids, at least IME. If another cichlid starts a fight, the pikes look to end it. I lost two EBJD to a male dwarf pike, a compressiceps. The pike never started a fight with them either, the EBJD's were always the aggressor ... and always the loser.
 
what about Crenicichla sp. Guyana or Crenicichla sp. British Guyana I ?
 
Pretty much any of the "Saxatillis" types will work, there are some that grow larger, but, for the most part, 8"-10" is about it. The "Saxatillis" types are the mid sized ones with spangling on the body. The best way to go about getting them is to see what is available and make your choice based on that, a good portion of the ones that you see pics and descriptions of are just not available in the hobby very often.
 
ok thanks but is the Crenicichla menezesi peaceful?
 
I have a menezesi in a 75 with my male GT. It's about 5" now, and has been growing pretty slow. The GT chases it quite a bit, but he isn't relentless about it and they do fine together. The pike darts out of the way but shows no aggression.

i think its tough to say if any species of pike is peaceful. its like asking if humans are peaceful? some are and some arent. thats why i always say its hit or miss.
