hey so which eel is good for a 125? i really like the look of them and want to know if i have the room for one first of all. i can get peacocks, tire tracks, and fires. never found a zz for sale though

i really know nothing of stock other than an ornate pim. i think im selling my dempseys. i would like to get some barbs or some mid/top dwellers. i really like the larger gouramis, maybe a clown knife or something similar. really dont know. at this point if they would go along together id put fancy goldfish in the tank...
predetory cats and spiney eels are a bad combo.. I actually keep a panda oranda in with my black leopard eels. But they did remove one of his eyes i'm pretty sure when he was a tiny guy. but they all play nice now. I would say a small group of zig zags ( make sure the tire tracks aren't zig zags, as they are commonly mis-labeld) would make good tank-mates for a few large orandas. The zig zags being on the more docile spectrum of spiney eels I don't know.. but believe this combo would work fine.
If your water is hard and alkaline, a tangyikan M.elipsifer is a good sized eel for a 125G. Mine loves pellets too, which is a huge advantage !
ya i dont want to put a fire eel in there unless someone convinces me otherwise, i have heard that an eel in a undersized tank will jump...
