dayi might be a bit more unusual as they are seen less, but I think it is hard to beat a grown out fire eel--they are simply stunning fish. I don't think you can lose either way!

yeah but i found a dayi on craigslist and my LFS get them in.

I agree. And with a fire eel, you know that it will eventually get to about 30", but w/ M. dayi, there has been debate as to their maximum size (which could either be 12" or 20").
