Which filter to choose AC110, emperor 400 or cascade 700

I would have leaned toward the masses here, but I just retired two AC110's.
I did have 2 AC110's, 2 Emp400's, and 2 XP2's on my 125.
After a couple gulps of sandy water, the AC's shat the bed. The Emps got the same treatment and are still quiet as mouse shat.
I bought two more Emps for a total of four.
Not only does that make all the media the same now, it also makes the intakes even across the back (anal, I know).
I won't say Emps are "better" (I always loved AC's)at filtration, but I can say IMO, they hold up to eating sand better.
Not to mention, from my research, AC's have went way past Emps. recently in price.
So... I have to bow to the Emperor now.

Whichever is cheapest between the AC110 and the EMP400. Both have good and bad traits, but broken down EMP400s are better for biomedia, and AC110s are better for mechanical filtration.

I currently run two EMP400s (they were cheaper when I was buying them)
