which fishing boat would you choose?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
u aint lyin JD id love to have somethin like that for the water way or even the lakes around here.

Seriously Ive been starring at the pics awhile now. Id put a casting deck up front and a small poling platform in the back and it would be a sick little "pocket" flats boat.

OP, about how much do they weigh?

that'd be a nice little setup..

You dont have space to store an eleven foot boat?

I do wish they made boats like that around here. In that size range you are pretty much limited to just flat bottom jon boats. A boat like either one of the boats you have posted would be perfect for going around the sound and bays around here. Hell on a calm day I wouldnt even think twice about dragging them to the beach and taking them out in the Gulf and doing a bit of trolling.

I do have the place to store an eleven foot boat on shore, but I mend a place to store in the water.
Like a dock,Its really a lot of effort to drag to boat to the water every time you want to fish.

This type of boats are quite common in my area and really cheap.
The first model is a Hoga Rodd 340.
Its weighs in at 185Ibs.

I'f you really want to buy a small fishing boat like the ones in the pictures.
I would definelty recommend a Verano boat.
there not that expensive, really stable, cheap and excellent for fishing.
Most of my friends have verano boats and they are without doubt the best boats I'f ever fished with.

I don't know the depth of where you are fishing but I perfur flat bottom boats so I can get into shallow coves.

varies between 30inches and 30feet.
usually about 3-6-feet deep.

Thanks for the info, Im going to look them up.

Do you guys not use trailers and have alot of public boat ramps or something? Why do you need to keep a boat that size in the water?

I bet those boats dont draft too much. My seventeen foot deep vee center console only drafts eight inches.

We don't have a lot of boat ramps but thats not really the problem.
I'm 19years old and since it legal to drive here from age 18,I'm still busy trying to get my drivers license .
I am still at High School currently doing pre-university education,So from Mo-Fri I am at school from 9 til 5.
Because I'm also playing basketbal and do work-outs,there is not much time left to go fishing.
I ussually fish for like 2-3hours and I dont want to spend like an hour to drive to a public boat ramp before I can go fishing.

The picture I added is a map of my state,
As you can see,all the waters are connected by channels making this one big waterway.
The map only shows the large channels, there are lots of other connections on smaller waters.
This waterway is world-famous for its large pike, zander and it used to be known for it's large healthy populations of both species.
I don't really need a trailer,I can go anywhere I want over water.
