I have an Oscar that is about 10" wth a pleco in 150gal tank. I would like to add something to go with them and I am pretty sold on a EBJD and either two Firemouth or two Red Sevrum. Any thoughts on this?

Diue to the size of my Oscar, I would be grow out whatever I choose in an established 50 gal tank I have. Also, where should I purchase them? I have a nice LFS, but their prices seem VERY high.

RDs grow at a rapid rate buy some grow pellets they'll eat until they brust open so dont over feed. progress in the amount of pellets you give per day. and he'll be big nogh to tussle with the big oscar(buy grow pellet made by hikari
 
an rd is a bad idea it will grow fast and torture the oscar even if the rd is smaller oscars are no where near on agression level that rd's are at..... and they have a nice set of teeth....

i have both but my rd is small.maybe you know more than i do
 
Im leaning Red Sevrum right now. However, a male red devil is pretty cool. Anyone know a place that sells good quality of either? Also, I see aquascape has the EBJD. They norm ship out high quality?
 
rd's are mild while small but once they hit 7-8'' they become a pain in the ***.... severums are goos ebjd's are good..... if you go with an rd pretty soon you will make a thread saying my rd almost killed my oscar...... this has happened to me and many people on here......
 
i got mines from petsmart.there nothin wrong with the one i go to i has a huge fish selection.id give it a 7.5 out of 10. and ive seen the best stores.SN if you do decide to buy a RD it migth be mix with midas ...same thing IMO
