What are your opinions on the best footprint to growout a jardini? I am eventually shooting for a 300 gallon tank, but will most likely use a smaller tank to grow out for 2-3 years.

72x18x21 or 60x24x24

I am thinking that the extra foot of length will be more valuable to the young jardini than the extra 6 inches of width, but wanted to get some opinions. I also think that it would be nicer to be able to watch him swim further.

60x24x24 imo the 18" is too narrow

neither for anything large- one is too short, one is too thin, but 5'x2' would be better of the 2. and you could keep the fish in there for a good while, just not when it's over 20".

i'd go with the 150 gal ...5'x2'x2'

IMO: the extra length wouldn't matter if the fish can't even turn around in 2-3 years...

the 2' wide one is good
i keep mine in a 6x2x2

i rekon 10x5x3 NOT 5x2x2 would be good

why on earth would a jardini need a grow out tank that big? doesnt even need a final tank that big

lol, he's asking what dementions for a "grow out tank" not a "for life tank".
although it would be great to have an extremely huge tank like you suggested...its just not what he's asking for.

IMO: that min tank size is way to big for a single Jar, lol.

I think either tank would be fine up to about 16", with the 5x2x2 you could go longer up til about 22". What are the dimensions of your new 300g you are getting?

I rekon you made a fool of yourself...or maybe ya just didn't understand the question.

dont mess about with the grow out tanks they will cost you more money just go 6x2x2ft then you should be safe for years if not life
