Which footprint would you rather have?

Yeh same if u have the room for 6x2x2 but if the flooring is a concern due to the heavier weight then why not do

6ftx2ft wide and 18-20"tall?

I had concerns about the flooring so I just went the long wide route and had someone make an acrylic at

6ft long 3ft wide and only 20" tall

I voted for the wide. I think he would like the extra width instead of extra length. Either size you go with will be great for him though, so it really comes down to personal preference.

Yeah, weight is not as big of a concern as cost. If I can get a 180g cheap acrylic, then I'd go for it.

I think my wishes are finally coming true! I scored a custom-made solid wood 5x2 stand and canopy on CL (made for acrylic tanks, too!). Picking it up tomorrow!!! That leaves the tank to purchase, but I got such a good deal on these that I can spend the extra $$ on a 5x2x2 tank. My midas is going to be one happy boy!

I voted other. I'd rather have a 72x18x18 100 gallon. The height really doesn't matter much to me.

If a fish is too big for an 18" wide tank, it's too big for a 4 foot long tank.

Thanks, I'm so excited. I've been emailing people on Craigslist for months, and this is the first deal that's come through! I can't wait to pick up the stand and canopy tomorrow.
