chances are you will never find a true spotted gar from what ive read on other posts.In that case I'm just gonna get the gar and forget about what species it is lol. Does $40 for 5" sound like a good deal?

Sounds like a lot of money for RTC food (which is what it will become at that size); the growth rate of the RTC is going to outstrip the gar, and the gar will become dinner.
I've been having 12-14"ers selling for $30 in my area recently. THat is not a very good price.
It was brought up in the first post; he wants a gar to go with his RTC in the pond that he's building...
sorry i forgot about that one my bad. Wiggles i dont know about you but i would suggest he gets the pond done and running before he gets a gar. or finds a gar thats twice or 3x bigger than the rtc.
