I checked the sticky, it had info on all species except spotted. Maybe it's just not showing up right since I'm using my iPhone. Ok so if spotted and floridas are nearly indistinguishable and have very similar size and growth rate, what exactly is so different about them? Is one better in a home aquarium over the other?
They're a different species and have slight differences that warrant that classification. In the home aquarium, these differences are basically indistinguishable, and these gars can be treated as the same fish when it comes to their care; their similarity is also why they tend to get mislabeled as each other (almost always Florida gars labeled as spotted gars).
