55g would be fine for a elong as they don't get too big, even a 9"er is rare in captivity.
make sure you got some good current in the tank as they are fast swimmer and current would help it being in a small 4ft glass box.
Exactly what I was going to say!! You can't expect every fish of a certain species to be a finger chaser it just wont happen. BM Elongs are usually aggressive but with finger chasers it's hit or miss.arrow;4322644; said:Your best bet would be serrasalmus maculatus/spilo
Keep in mind that every p has its own personality but these tend to be the most aggressive i.e fingerchasers.
Elongatus are usually pretty agressive also but sometimes you get one that just sits in the corner.
