The store that I work at sells Marineland products, I can buy them AT COST. I still buy Aqua Clear elsewhere. You can stuff them with the media you choose, not those crappy carbon filter inserts.

Can you stuff other media such as ceramic rings and foam sponges, instead of those crappy carbon filter inserts, for Marineland HOBs?

Yes. I have polyfil quilt batting in my two Emperor 400s.

Lol. You can always go for an emp 400 to improve bio filtration, but if that's the case, then ac110 is the best bet, I'm also getting an ac110, it's going to be paired up with my emp 400 for the ultimate HOB filtration.
