Tank would be a decently stocked 75gallon.
I want good filtration, but not go above my budget I set for myself.

I know you put up the SunSun 304B but I think you would be better off to get the 404B. It will handle the 75 much better. I would say that the 304B should probably not be used above 55 gallons. I think that the 404B is probably good for tanks up to about 90 gallons, maybe 125 if not too heavily stocked.

I have an unboxing thread for the 304B that I posted a few months back. It was bumped a few weeks ago, so it should still be found pretty recent.

Light stocking: one 304b
Heavy stocking: two 304b

You should also look into Odyssea 700CFS. This canister is a beast and a single unit will easily filter a 75

Actually, the 304B and 404B are 98% exactly the same, just the 404B has a nice carrying handle. I have both.

As for the OP question, if you can only have 2 of the 3, go with the 304B and the AQ110.

If you can go with all 3, go for it, but shouldn’t be "necessary". One of the the main advantages is that you can always THOROUGHLY clean 1, and reasonably know that the other can hold the tank's bio needs until the recently cleaned filter catches back up in the event you may have accidentally lost too much beneficial bacteria from cleaning.

I also have a CFS700,(and a CFS14i/1200)....

If you are NEW to canisters, I do not recommend CFS canister filters, as they will generally have to be modified right out of the box, and due to their cheap plastics, are easily damaged by heavy handed inexperience tightening the lids.

YMMV....

The 404B is rated for a much higher flow that the 304B. I also thought that the 404B had four media baskets instead of the three that the 304B has.

I own 3 of these Odyssea canisters, with one going on 3 years. I didn't do a single modification......haven't had a single issue with any of my 3.

I forgot, I have one brand new CFS700 still sitting in the box waiting to be set up. So, that makes 4 units I own......yep, I like 'em

Thank you for all of the info.
I'll look into the odyessa filters too. Besides prices, the only thing thats holding me back on purchases is the fact that I've never had a canister filter. Kind of nervous that if I don't set one up right it will leak and cause trouble.
The only filters I have experience in are Aquaclears and spongefilters.
