which is better?

So Wardley is considered bad. I have their tropical flakes and their cichlid crumbles. My male green terror has the best color I have seen in a fish and my female blue acara is in excellent condition and have great color. These two fish have bred together, accidentely of course. And they have been fed that since I bought them bout 3-4 months ago.

I know that food wouldn't probaly effect them breeding but the color would. And like I said their excellent color and very nice looking great fish. I agree Wardley is probaly not the best food considering you can buy like a 16 0z. jug of tropical flakes at walmart for around 6 bucks, lol. But my fish seem to do very well on it. That's just my 2 cents though, don't get mad.:grinno:

That food is fine, most people who pretend like they are really informed about the ingredients of fish food don't know anything about it. If it works good for you and your fish like it then use it. Don't listen to these clowns who say you have to use a certain type of food for your fish to color up, these are the same guys who try to sell you extra stuff you don't need at the LFS. keep your water clean and give them plenty of space and decent food and they will do great. That is my experience....

I was taking some pictures anyways. This is off the side of my 5lb cichlid bucket of NLS.

Negative, Tetra make good quality food. Colour Bits are an excellent product.

I feed Omega One, NLS, Tetra and Hikari.

I'll agree with you on the color bits, I feed the tetra bits flake but the rest of the stuff they make is junk.

You get what you pay for. When I used to feed that massive purple can of wardley my fish were always getting ick for no reason. After I switched to omega one my fish were great, wardleys cichlid food is poop. I still use wardley shrimp pellets and algae wafers though.

The original question was "which is better," not which is suitable.

Lighten up with the clown crap.

No, no..... I know the reasons. It was rhetorical. It just seems that not everyone is quite so logical in their choice!

Based on ingredients and the needs of the fish NLS is slightly better than Omega, and both are MUCH better than just about everything else.

:iagree:

Would you rather feed your dog Science Diet or Walmart brand-Ole Roy dog food? Do you say they're equal as well? I say one is definitely better than the other. A dog can survive on Walmart's Ole Roy but will thrive on the Science Diet or equivalant with better health with a nicer, shinier coat, teeth and gums etc. Now if your budget only allows for Ole Roy then so be it, like I said it will suffice but not maximize your pet's potential.
