Ok mines 6.25" from the wall measuring from the upper frame and that leaves about 1.5" from the back of the filter to the wall. You always want a little extra space. Good luck with your new tank and you will not regreat the ac110 they are awesome.

Yep amazon the box was a lil ripped but the filter is in new condition never opened and I got a coralife dual t5 strip 36" for $52 my total purchase was less than $110 for the 2
