which is most aggressive characin?

I think aimara's aggression is exaggerated or urban legend. I have seen aimara charging at food and attacking water hose when provoked. But how many of us have personal experience with its aggression when housed with other aggressive fish? Most of the time it's housed by itself but is it due to aggression or price?

An Armatus will not last in a tank with a Brycon Dentex, period..A Dorado might leave the Armatus alone but a Brycon Dentex will take it out in an aquarium..That is not aggression well, that is your opnion..

I am speaking from expereince and not what is written or said about things..I see many photos about an Armatus living with other fishes peacefully..And I see comments that an Armatus got harrased by P-Bass...

brycons feed on scales.
thats not aggression in my opinion.

aimara 100% will kill anything...love that wolf

Yea right! When I ended up with a lot of dead fishes by my Brycons, I will call it aggression and not scale eating..Since some of my fishes where torn in half..

then i guess it may be aggression.
not trying to doubt or anything.

exactly, aimaras are lethal. think how aggro a hoplias malabaricus is, then triple its overall size and youve got one serious fish. i have seen a 36" one posted on another forum, the fella who owns it wears chain mail gloves to do tank cleaning, and he needs them coz he gets attacked every time

imo, nothing freshwater can **** with aimara.....even micropeltes couldnt touch one imo
