which is the best food for blackghost

I don't think there is such a thing as a best food. The key to health is a balanced diet. This should include live, frozen, freeze-dried, and pellets. I can't get my knife to accept cichlid pellets as yet, but I'll try again after the move.

I feed live ghost shrimp, black worms, and cut up earth worms (red wigglers) whenever I go to the "good" lfs. He gets a lot of frozen mosquito larvae and blood worms. As a general staple he gets FD blood worms and tubifex and prepared shrimp pellets.

I have never fed beef heart, but some people swear by it. The problem that I have is that it is not similar to anything in their natural diet and it is high in cholesterol, but I don't know the stats on most of the foods.

I feed my ghost knife frozen miacin shrimp, frozen blood worms, frozen baby brine...and little tiny pellets that land on the bottom and he races around and scoops them up... good luck with your guy..:)

I totally agree. A balanced diet is the way to go. I feed bloodworms, glassworms, mysis, brine, and offer pellets, not sure if he takes them.

I feed my BGK a diet of frozen mysis , brine shrimp , frozen bloodworms , frozen white worms , fresh shrimp and fresh scallops as well as shrimp pellets and flakes . All that and he will still eat the plecos zucinni .

BLOOD WORMS all the way(earthworms every once in a while)

may as well use an old thread...

I've been feeding my 8-9" BGK frozen bloodworms since i got it at about 3-4" and I'm trying to get it on some other food. I really wish I wouldve started it out on a variety at a small size. Anyway, I got some shrimp pellets and it won't even look them. Should I try the starvation technique? It'll come out as soon as the bloodworms hit the water. My senegal won't eat them either but will eat pieces of algae wafers, but thats for another section.
