Which is the best uv sterilizer for Fresh water

turbo twist..... i herd.. never used any
 
i dont think it matters. UV is UV, whether its for fresh or salt. But i use a JEBO 18 watt. It comes with its own powerhead.

no two model UV's are the same, some models/ brands are more efficient than others

to keep algae in check go turbo twist like zach said

for parasites, id use a life gurard uv, they have higher wattage selections.
 
Get a 6-8 W pond one. It cost half the price of a tank one. Cut out the intake to your filter put it in line, run it! Have used this for years. It works spot on and every one I have told has used the same and never had a problem.
 
I can vouch for that. Stotty sent me one of his, a really good pond UV. Works brilliantly on my 180, cleared it in a couple of days. It was obscenely cloudy too. Pellets stopped sprouting mould too. I've now got that UV and a water purifier too because of the crappy water here.
 
Ive seen the one with the wipers but i have had my turbo twist running for 6 months and the glass sleeve still looks brand new. So i would save the money and just go with a turbo twist b/c the wiping feature is useless in the long term aspect b/c you probablyh only have to wipe it once a year.
