Which is the better solo fish?

When it comes to Wet Pets/Solo fish, the Amphilophus species are just unmatched by any other family of fish imho. Theire overall personalities and not to mention glassbanger potential is way beyond even Dovii's and Umbee's in my experiences.

The Beani is a beautiful fish no doubt, it's just way down the ladder when it comes to Wet Pets in my book. I'd rather have a pair of those, and finding a healthy pair of Beani isn't exactly a walk in the lfs. (see what i did there?)

Thanks for all the replys and my original plan was to get a Beani but over the last month or so I have been so amazed at the few pics Ive seen of the Red Isletas that I've been changing my mind which isn't a bad thing, just makes the decision harder. I love the Redish face.

I am picking the Dovi because I am partial to C/A. But I also like the Oscar and Pacu.

That one is from Rapps and is only about 4" long. I'm thinking about getting some of these aswell

on my list of fish to keep as wet pets or even a pair is grammodes and freddys( i own both right now) then it would be the red isletas they are just so cool. I have a friend with a adult male i can get it for $15 but i dont have the room for it

I honestly didn't realize I was in the media lounge but what the heck, maybe some pics of these 2 species.

Moved. Beani are nice but for solo/show piece I would go for an Amphilophus species any day..
